Dog Shows; A Source of Entertainment

Although some are still unaware, many families have discovered the fun and  
interesting things to see at Dog Shows. Dogs, which are of interest to most  of us 
(especially children), are a source of pleasure to be around and Dog  Shows give 
us a chance to observe some of the finest specimens of each breed. 
 
Most of the outdoor shows take place in rural areas amongst farmlands and  
scenic countrysides where we otherwise might not go. The striped tents and  flags 
fluttering in the breeze create a festive atmosphere and is an  opportunity for an 
enjoyable day out in the open air with the family. 
 
Whether it be the small feisty Terrier Breeds or the huge Saint Barnard or  Great 
Danes which are your type, you're sure to find a breed that strikes  your fancy. 
 
The Obedience and Agility Rings are of particular interest showing off the  
discipline and extensive training that goes into these fine animals. 
 
In the conformation Ring where the beauty and the anatomy of each dog is  
checked you will have fun picking the dogs you like the best and think will  win. 
Who will take 1st Place? How about 2nd? Be your own judge and in the end  see 
how close you came. 
 
Around the perimeter of the show grounds are vendors selling food, beverages,  
and every item imaginable for a pet and even beautiful 14K pet jewelry for  
humans. Bring your credit card but don't get carried away!  
 
At the Superintendent's Desk you may help yourself to pamphlets and brochures  
and much valuable information on the care and treatment of dogs. It's helpful  to 
purchase a catalog which indicates the time and Ring # where each breed is  to 
be shown. 
 
So bring your folding chairs and get ready to spend a memorable day at the  Dog 
Show.
